This Week we Feature: PedalingPeeps aka Lauren Peeples!

Leaderboard Get To Know You

First and foremost explain what is your leaderboard name and what is it’s genesis: PedalingPeeps is just a “spin” off of my last name.  I always loved a little alliteration

Personal Info:

Name: Lauren Peeples

Where do You live? Westbury, NY (Long Islander- born and raised)

Married/Single?  Married to my husband Tim for 4 1/2 years

Kids/Grandkids  I have two kids.  My daughter Paige is 3 ½, going on 17 and my son, Ryan is almost 2.

Pets? No pets for now.  My little humans keep me way too busy to be able to care for a dog at the moment, even though we’d love one someday…. down the line… when the kids can help take care of said dog (do they ever actually help??)

Working/Retired? I’m an elementary teacher but have been home for the last two years with my babies. I’ve taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and also worked as a math specialist.  My favorite will always be 3rd grade, love that age!

Do you have a motto in which you live by? I try to live by this one: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”

How long have you had your bike – We got our bike in December 2017. Best present to ourselves ever!!

Where in your home do you ride –  In our finished basement/playroom.

I’ve ridden with Jenn, Denis, and Cody.  I’ve been lucky to be able to take a few trips into the city to ride with both of my sisters on separate occasions.  We are still working on getting all three #pelosisters into the studio together though. Hopefully soon and with Jenn!

Who would you like to ride with – I’d love to ride with JSS again.  And I’d also really like to ride with Robin

Guilty Pleasure – Chocolate.  I have no will power when it comes to chocolate and this Halloween season is taking a toll on me!

Favorite Curse word – shit?

Favorite musician – This is hard. I’d probably have to say Dave Matthews Band (a staple of my younger years and so many great memories of their shows) or Florida Georgia Line (my threenager is obsessed and so we listen to them a lot)

Morning or night – Morning.  I’m always the one falling asleep on the couch at night.

Last Book You Read –. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.  It was for my book club which is really just a drink wine, eat pizza, did anyone actually read the book? club. But this one I actually read and highly recommend!

Who’s the Last Person who texted you – My sister Kim, to our sisters text thread, telling us to stop scaring her about the Power Zone Max ride we had to take.  Get your butt on the bike and JFDI, #RingMyBell!

Fave Reality TV show – I don’t watch much, but I love Big Brother in the summers

What is something we’d be surprised to know about you? I’m pretty boring with no real surprises.  My uncle was photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe though. Unfortunately his artistic talent did not seep down through my mom to me!

Dinner guest – JSS of course! Or JFK – always had a fascination with him

Marry/F/Kill-Robin Arzon, Jenn Sherman or JJ OR Matt Wilpers, Alex T. or Denis Ahh I couldn’t kill anyone, so I’ll decline to answer.  BUT let’s just say if Denis asked, I’d say yes… shhh don’t tell my hubby!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I love everything about this bike and this community!  I am so thankful that my sisters got me into Peloton and introduced me to riding with Jenn.  I love being able to ride with my #pelosisters even though we may live apart from each other.  And we WILL get into the studio to ride together, with Jenn of course! Oh and thanks to my sister Kerry for volunteering me for this.  I’d NEVER have done it for myself (I’m not the outgoing sister!) so in return can I use this forum to nominate #SpiderGirl for a future LB get to know you?! Love ya, sis 😉
